After School Group Leader
Position Title: After School Group Leader

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Site Coordinator, Group Leader is responsible for supervising, planning implementing and organizing daily educational and recreational activities for their group. Group Leaders are dynamic, fun loving, dedicated, and caring individuals responsible for preparing and facilitating small group instruction and activities for children in an after-school or summer camp setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must enjoy being around children.
- Help plan, organize, and facilitate age-appropriate, thematic-based activities, including field trips.
- Interact with all program participants and look for opportunities to invoke fun and excitement amongst participants.
- Participate in the overall program planning and development activities.
- Maintain a daily attendance record of children’s participation.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in the general efforts of the program and all required trainings.
- Inform the Center Director of disciplinary concerns and take responsibility for behavior management of youth.
- Assist with continuing and end of day clean-up of facility and ensure that equipment and supplies are returned to storage and properly maintained.
- Responsible for the coordination and delivery of youth development programs and activities in your assigned group.
- Assists in the supervision of volunteers and youth appropriately within EEC guidelines.
- Writes any reports/incidents as needed related to youth program activities.
- Must be available to do other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Site Director and/or immediate supervisor.
- Be able to uphold and adhere to all program and agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Group Leaders must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have at least 6 months of supervised experience working with school-aged children, or 3 months of supervised experience AND at least 3 credits in Child Growth and Development, Human Development, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with youth, think creatively and actively problem solve
- Must possess strong classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop activity plans
- Prior after-school or summer camp experience is a plus.
- Have a physical exam with positive results, negative TB and meet CORI standards.

Food Pantry Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Food Pantry Coordinator has the primary responsibility for ensuring full operations of the Martin
Luther King, Jr. Family Services Food Pantry which is opened once weekly in its full capacity and
welcomes 200-300 community members and twice monthly in conjunction with The Food Bank of
Western Mass as a mobile food pantry. Organization, execution, supervision, and reporting are
essential components of this role. As Food Pantry Coordinator you will supervise one paid part-time
pantry assistant and nearly 40 regular volunteers. Reporting both internally at Management Team and
board meetings, as well as externally to our partners at the Food Bank of Western Mass. The Food
Pantry Coordinator position is critical to the successful operations of the pantry which serves as a pivotal
program for our direct community of Mason Square Springfield as there are no established full-service
grocers in the immediate area.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all services related to the Food Pantry including maintaining the physical space of
the pantry both internally and externally
• Organize food pick-ups and inventory in accordance with USDA guidelines
• Coordinate the weekly distribution of nutritious food products to diverse community members
and program participants
• Manage partnerships, inclusive of planning and submitting the weekly food orders with the
Foodbank of Western Mass and local grocery store partners
• Ensure compliance as required by local, state, and federal entities, inclusive of Department of
Public Health, US Department of HUD, Foodbank of Western Mass, etc.)
• Maintain required documentation as determined by Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Services, and
all funding sources, inclusive of Foodbank of Western Mass online reporting system
• Function as liaison with food distribution agencies and relevant sources, inclusive of Foodbank
of Western Mass, Open Pantry, Project Bread, FEMA, WIC, etc.
• Assist with fundraising efforts pertaining to the Food Pantry, as needed
• Supervise Pantry Assistant, drivers for food pick-ups, and regular volunteers (20-25 people
weekly)

After School Site Coordinator

Position Summary: The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and operation of the site’s afterschool, vacation camp and/or summer camp program for school aged participants ages 5-13. The Site Coordinator ensures full compliance with EEC licensing requirements and city/ state safety standards. Site Coordinator is primarily responsible for program design; providing leadership, direction, training, and support to on-site staff and volunteers; creating a culture of achievement and developing meaningful relationships with children and families.
Responsibilities:
Basic Supervision and Programming:
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and engaging after-school atmosphere aligned with the program’s mission and values.
- Design and implement a comprehensive program of activities that reflect the social/emotional and instructional tone of the school day.
- Supervise and provide leadership to site-based staff, ensuring a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Collaborate with the after-school team to establish effective flow patterns, transitions, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate enrollment lists and schedules, facilitating participation in classes and activities.
Operations:
- Establish efficient systems for accurate enrollment, attendance, and billing.

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Child Care; AND 1 year of experience working with school age children high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any field or an Associate’s Degree in any field of study AND have 2 years of experience working with school age children

Assistant Camp Counselors are mature, energetic, and compassionate individuals who work closely with children aged 5-13, actively engaging them in group activities and modeling appropriate behavior. Each Assistant Camp Counselor supports a senior Camp Counselor, assisting in planning, organizing, and executing various activities while prioritizing youth safety and engagement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support daily program operations as directed by the Site Coordinator.
- Lead or assist in facilitating program activities, encouraging youth participation.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleanup of program areas.

Teen Program Coordinator
Position Title: Teen Program Coordinator

Position Summary: The Teen Center Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, supervision, evaluation and reporting for all programs, activities and special events related to the center’s Night Spot program for members ages 13-21.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 6pm-9pm and occasional weekends for scheduled special events.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the design, implementation and delivery of programs, activities, and events for youth ages 13-21.
- Develop activity guides and organize workshops according to program schedule.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with teen members.
- Develop marketing materials to promote Night Spot activities and coordinate outreach strategies to youth, families and local schools.
- Safely secure, maintain and utilize program materials/equipment in program areas.
- Work with teens and outreach staff to complete enrollment and risk assessment forms
- Develop collaborations with colleges and community partners to secure assistance with program workshops and activities

Maintenance Assistant
Job Title: Maintenance Assistant
Program: Summer Camp
Supervisor: Director of Youth Programs
Position Summary: Part-time Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment ensuring that facilities are clean, safe and in good operating condition.
Qualifications: High diploma or G.E.D is required with a minimum of two years of professional paid work experience in building maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, etc. Certifications in property maintenance or trades a plus. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents. Must also have a physical exam with positive results, negative TB and meet CORI standards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Clean all areas as assigned: classrooms, corridors, offices and other instructional and non-instructional spaces with treated mop and/or vacuum cleaner, wet mop or duster.
- Remove waste from rooms and ensure wastebaskets are in clean and sanitary condition.
- Clean and disinfect lavatory floors, toilets, sinks and other high touch areas, keeping soap, paper towels and toilet paper dispensers filled and supplies appropriately stocked.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, equipment and furniture construction, and moderate plumbing or electrical work; document and assist with scheduling large scale repairs.
- Carry out maintenance and minor repairs in the building and exterior property
- Ensure that all program areas are safe and clean, and securely store equipment and supplies.
- Assist with set up and break down of furniture in preparation for, or following, center events.
- Present ideas and suggestions for improving the management and maintenance of the property as often as possible.
- Attend meetings with staff or volunteers to assist in the proper collective maintenance of the facility.
