DESCRIPTION:MLKFS ANNOUNCES BE LOVE CAMPAIGN LAUNCH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SPRINGFIELD CITY LIBRARY AND SPRINGFIELD CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP \n“Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love.” \nReverend Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. \nMLK Jr. Family Services is proud to partner with Springfield City Library and Springfield Cultural Partnership to bring the Be Love movement to Springfield in the form of a community puzzle to expand this social justice art engagement project as a part of The King Center’s growing national movement\, ‘Be Love’.  Be Love Day\, set for July 12\, 2024 at 11am at the MLK Jr. Family Services Martin Luther King Jr. Mural\, bringing together the project partners\, local artists and city leaders to commemorate the official launch of this summer-long\, city-wide project. \n “MLK Day 2024 was a “Day On” at the MassMutual Center where more than 2\,300 families\, friends and neighbors gathered to honor the legacy of Dr. King.  It was there that we launched a public engagement social justice art movement to center the power of love: to unite humanity\, cultivate true peace\, and create Dr. King’s Beloved Community across our region\, to ensure we actively embrace Kingian Nonviolence throughout the year\,” shares Shannon M. DESCRIPTION:YOU’RE YOU’RE INVITED  \nVoices From Clemente\, A Poetry Reading & Book Party on Sunday\, July 28\, 2:00-4:00pm at Olive Tree Books-n-Voices\, 97 Hancock Street\, Springfield. Light refreshments will be served. \nMartin Luther King Jr. Family Services\, Inc. is celebrating its 8th year hosting The Clemente Course in Humanities. This course offers a  transformative educational experience for residents from historically and systemically excluded communities\, where they have the opportunity to take free\, college-level courses. It allows students to connect with others over civic issues\, to author stories about our democracy\, and to develop leadership skills.  \nTogether\, with our funding partner\, MassHumanities\, we are building a bridge to higher education\, encouraging critical thinking\, reasoned argument and effective communication through written and oral expression.   \nCome join us on a journey to experience the creativity of some of our Clemente graduates as you peruse the bookstore and all it offers.  \nFree Copies of the published poems will be available  \nRSVP Patricia Bernard at pbernard@mlkjrfs.org  \n The Clemente Fall program is taking applications so please share widely within your networks.  \n“This program is funded in part by Mass Humanities\, which receives support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and is an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.”
